Our Training will be located at 2911 Sage Rd. , Houston, Texas.
Our blended course is synchronously and asynchronous, meaning you're online and interacting with students in real time, and asynchronous, working on materials on your own schedule.. This blended-learning course will be conducted online and one full day, face-to-face, hands-on training on a Friday from 9am-6pm.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: THERE IS A MANDATORY online Domestic Violence Training (4-hour) required. This course is separate from our training. Please sign-up at WWW.TCFV.org (you must join to have access to the modules). If you need assistance with signing up for the DV course you can call Esmeralda Flores at 512-685-6366.
*All online course work must be completed before the classroom training
*Prerequisite: 40 hour Basic Mediation Training and ONLINE Domestic Violence Training (4-hour) required.
COURT APPOINTED MEDIATION:
Domestic Violence Training: The 85th Texas Legislature (2017) passed Senate Bill 539, requiring a minimum of four (4) hours of domestic violence training for child custody mediators. This one-time training requirement set forth the minimum amount of education for mediation professionals on domestic violence consistent with child and survivor safety perspectives. This four-part web-based toolkit meets the new requirements under the Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code 154.052 for child custody mediators. You will receive a certificate of completion at the end of each module. You must complete the Domestic Violence Training prior to the In-class training and show proof of completion.
